We couldn’t be happier with Peruvian Secret Weapon. We purchased him in partnership with Graceful Legend Llamas in November of 1999 and his production has exceeded our wildest expectations.

Peruvian Secret Weapon is simply one of those llamas that you have to see to believe. He is tall, correct, large-boned and well balanced and all of these physical traits rest beneath a super suri fleece that is fine, lustrous and locked to the skin, even at age five after multiple shearings. And if that isn’t enough to get excited about, Peruvian Secret Weapon is unrelated to all other suri males in North America, including Kantu, Maximo and Keno, a fact that we verified through DNA testing. Many people have the impression that Secret Weapon is white. And although his fleece is predominantly cremello, he also has rose gray markings and black roaning throughout his fleece. We have determined, based on consultation with a leading color geneticist, that Peruvian Secret Weapon is a roan paint suri!

Peruvian Secret Weapon has earned his reputation. We believe that he is one of the best suri males in the country as is evidenced by his offspring. He is producing offspring in a wide array of colors including gray, red, mahogany, cremello, black and taupe in an even wider variety of color patterns including paints, roans, tuxedos and appaloosas. In addition to exciting colors, his kids are healthy, vigorous and robust when they hit the ground and they consistently have Secret Weapon’s gentle disposition and correct conformation. He is producing suri offspring about 70% of the time, but even the “non-suri” kids have beautiful locked fleeces that are fine to the touch.
